Blueberry Sauce

A Jessica Siegel & Kid-Friendly Recipe
Sometimes the simplest recipes taste the best-and this is one of
those recipes. Kids love this simple sauce because of the color
and the flavor. Pour the sauce over plain yogurt, fruit salad,
ice cream, pancakes, angel food cake and anything else you and
the kids can think of!
Instructions:
Put the blueberries in a strainer and pick out any green
or shriveled berries. Rinse them under cold
running water and allow the water to drain out.
Pour the clean berries into a small pot that has a lid.
Measure in the orange or apple juice and sprinkle
the sugar on top. Mix the berries with a wooden
spoon. Cover the pot and cook the berries over
medium-low heat. Stir the sauce after about 3
minutes. Cook the sauce for 2 more minutes, until
the berries burst and make some juice. Turn off
the stove and let the sauce stand uncovered for
at least 3 minutes so the sauce can get thick.
Serve blueberry sauce over any of your favorite
foods.
