A Jessica Siegel & Kid-Friendly Recipe
Serves 1 or many
his yummy dessert is easy for both
kids and adults to whip up. You can actually use any type of berry you like, even fresh.
Be sure to use potholders when removing the ramekins from the oven, since they do get hot.
You will need:
- A ramekin
- A 1/3-cup measuring cup
- Measuring spoons
- An oven or toaster oven
- An adult
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup Wyman's frozen mixed berries, defrosted
- 2 tablespoons Daisy no fat sour cream
- 1 drop vanilla
- 2 teaspoons Hain Organic brown sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 300º F.
Measure out 1/3 cup of berries. If you're in a hurry, place
the berries in a strainer and run them under warm running water to help them
defrost. Otherwise, let them sit in the strainer in the sink for a while. Dry them
with a paper towel and cut any large strawberries in half with a knife.
Move the berries into a ramekin. Measure 2 tablespoons
sour cream over the berries. Carefully pour 1 drop of vanilla on the sour cream
and mix everything up.
Smooth the sour cream over the berries and sprinkle
2 teaspoons of brown sugar all over the top.
Put the ramekin in the oven and cook for about 10 or 12
minutes, until the sugar melts. Ask an adult to help you use a potholder to take
it out of the oven. Eat your creamy berries right away with a spoon. They're
warm, but not hot.
