Barbecued Guava Shrimp With Banana Salsa
Serves 4
1 Pound 26-30 Shrimp -- Cleaned & Deveined 2 Tablespoons Water Banana Salsa
1 Teaspoon Allspice 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper 1 Teaspoon Sugar 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 Teaspoon Minced Green Onions Tabasco Sauce -- To Taste
1/4 Cup Catsup 2 Tablespoons Water 1 Tablespoon Guava Paste 1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar 1 1/2 Teaspoons Honey 1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar 1/2 Teaspoon Jerk Seasoning 1/2 Teaspoon Canola Oil
3 Large Tomatoes, Seeded -- Diced 1/4" 1 Large Banana -- Diced 1/4" 1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Red Onion 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice 1 1/2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 2 Teaspoons Cilantro
Blend barbecue sauce ingredients together well in a blender. Mix together shrimp and sauce and marinate for 2 hours. Drain shrimp, add water to sauce and cook at a slow boil. Grill shrimp and brush with sauce, when done, top each shrimp with banana salsa. |
