reak out of your snack rut with these flavorful and satisfying little bites. In Greece, where the Mediterranean Diet is popular, adherents often enjoy a similar combination of figs, nuts and cheese.
Ingredients:
- 12 Mariani shelled premium pecans
- 1 teaspoon MacDonald’s 100% pure maple syrup
- 3 fresh figs, stems cut off, sliced into 4 rounds each
- 1 ounce Black River Gorgonzola cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit. Toss pecans with syrup, place on a baking sheet one inch apart. Cook eight to ten minutes, until fragrant. Remove, separate and let cool.
Lay the fig rounds on a plate. Place a pecan in the center of each fig slice, pinch little bits of cheese off of the wedge and press onto the pecans.
