Tropical Smoothies
A Jessica Siegel & Kid-Friendly Recipe

aking smoothies is fun for kids, especially since they love the sound and motion of blenders. This tropical smoothie is simple, nutritious, and delicious. It contains calcium, vitamin C, potassium, fiber, and protein for a healthy and balanced snack.
You will need:
a blender
measuring cups
measuring spoons
drinking cups
Ingredients:
- 1/2 very ripe medium banana or 1 small ripe banana
- 1 cup Horizon Organic plain nonfat yogurt
- 1/2 cup Dole pineapple chunks in their own juice, drained
- 1/2 teaspoon McCormick coconut extract
- 1 tablespoon Sue Bee honey
- 4 ice cubes or 2 cup ice
Instructions:
Put the banana into the blender.
Use a 1-cup measuring cup to measure out the yogurt. Add the yogurt to the blender.
Use a 2 cup measuring cup to measure out the pineapple chunks. Add the pineapple to the blender.
Measure in the 2 teaspoon coconut extract and the 1 tablespoon of honey.
Place 4 ice cubes in the blender or measure out 2 cup of ice.
Cover the blender tightly and blend until smooth, about 1 minute. Pour the smoothie into two glasses and drink it for a snack.
