With its sunny, golden hue, this cocktail seems to guarantee a shiny New Year. It’s tart and slightly sweet, and it takes us right back to our childhood lemonade stand — so refreshing.
Our tip: Make it with Bulleit Rye Whiskey. The whiskey’s warm honey and vanilla flavors provide a nice base note to the drink’s brighter tones, adding a little cinnamon and spice along the way.
2 oz whiskey
¾ oz honey syrup (recipe below)
¾ oz lemon juice
- Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake heartily, and strain into a chilled rocks glass with lots of ice.
1½ cups honey
1½ cups water
- Combine ingredients in a small saucepan and heat on low until the ingredients combine.
- Let cool, cover, and store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
