The best part of awards season is watching all the shows with your friends and family — they’re the only shows you’re all allowed to talk through! And nothing gets the peanut gallery off to a rollicking and rowdy start like a fizzy signature cocktail.
Our version of The Premiere is a fantastic choice: The name is totally apropos and it has a very classy demeanor. The color is light and peachy, the flavor is citrus punch with a hint of ginger spice and the Bénédictine’s honey-and-herbs base note.
Our tips: Go fancy with your ice. You don’t want it to melt into your drink and water it down, so use a big, chunky rock — round or square — or the long, tall Collins rock. And, if you’ve got a bunch of people coming over, go ahead make your Premieres in a pitcher and keep it cold in the fridge. No shaking necessary!
1 ½ oz Grey Goose L'Orange
¼ oz Bénédictine & Brandy D.O.M Liqueur
1 ½ oz red or pink grapefruit juice
½ oz ginger ale
1 orange wheel
Combine the first three ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously.
Pour the cocktail into a Collins glass filled with ice.
Top with ginger ale and an orange wheel.
