Mango Rum Lassi

Looking for a fancy drink to make for your fancy friends — or really, for your fancy self? This creamy, boozy lassi is made with fresh mangoes and plenty of rich, toasty rum. A dash of cinnamon and cardamom add complexity, like two tiny hints of holiday cheer mixed into a glass of summer fun.

Mango Rum Lassi

Serves: 2


2 cups fresh or frozen mango, diced
1 cup ice
½ cup golden rum, chilled
1 cup nonfat yogurt
1 ½ Tbsp honey
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp Gelson’s ground cinnamon
⅛ tsp Gelson’s ground cardamom
Gelson’s organic mint leaves, for garnish


  1. In a blender, combine the diced mango, ice, rum, yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground cardamom. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute.

  2. Divide the mango lassi among 2 stemless wine glasses. Garnish with mint leaves and serve immediately.
