Meat Loaf Americana

Serves: 8


1 1/2 lbs ground beef 7 to 9 by weight
1 1/2 cups fresh bread torn up into small pieces
189 cup onions minced
188 cup green bell pepper minced
2 eggs
1 horseradish
2 prepared mustard
2 evaporated skim milk
2 catsup


Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine beef, crumbs, onions, green pepper, egg substitute, horseradish, mustard, milk and catsup.

Pat into a 9x5x2 loaf pan.

Invert loaf onto baking rack that is sitting on a foiled covered cookie sheet.

Turn up edges of foil to form rim to catch the juices.

Bake at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving. Slice to serve.

Serving suggestion: Serve the meatloaf with marinara sauce if you desire a topping.

Delicious with mashed potatoes or oven baked fries. Garnish with parsley.
