Gelson's Stores Temporarily Closed Due To COVID-19
As an essential business providing a vitally important resource to our neighborhoods, we take our obligations seriously to ensure we continue to provide food and supplies needed during this time. While we continue to respond to this ever-changing and growing situation, Gelson’s focus remains on doing whatever is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of our employees and customers and to best support our communities. We believe in transparency and providing clear communication to our employees and customers. Some of our locations will need to be closed temporarily related to COVID-19 concerns, for precautionary measures including cleaning and sanitization. When a store is closed, all associates are paid for their scheduled shifts.
We are working closely with local health officials to take all necessary measures and encourage shoppers who have health-related concerns to review CDC and local health department guidelines and to contact their healthcare providers with any questions. Employees who feel sick are directed to stay at home; any employees who do test positive for COVID-19 are interviewed to be sure that all close contacts are appropriately quarantined. The CDC defines close contact as within 6 feet, for more than 10 minutes.
As a reminder, all Gelson’s locations are open for seniors 60+, shoppers with disabilities, and group home caregivers only from 7am-8am, to help protect the vulnerable members of our community.
