Tasmanian Cherry Martini

Serves: 1

Prep Time: 10

Ingredients

2 oz rosemary-infused vodka (see directions below)
1 oz cherry liqueur
1 oz fresh Tasmanian cherry juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Garnish
Fresh Tasmanian cherry (pitted and skewered)
Rosemary sprig (lightly bruised for aroma)

How To Infuse Vodka with Rosemary (See Below)

1 bottle (750 ml) vodka
4–5 sprigs of fresh rosemary (washed and dried)

Directions

  1. Prepare the Cherry Juice: Pit and blend a handful of Tasmanian cherries to extract fresh juice. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove solids.
  2. Mix the Martini: In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz rosemary-infused vodka, cherry liqueur, fresh cherry juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  3. Add a generous amount of ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds.
  4. Serve: Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Garnish: Skewer a fresh Tasmanian cherry and rest it on the rim of the glass. Add a lightly bruised rosemary sprig for an aromatic wintery touch.

How to Infuse Vodka with Rosemary

  1. Prepare the Rosemary: Rinse the rosemary sprigs and pat them dry. Lightly bruise the leaves with your fingers or the back of a knife to release their oils.
  2. Infuse the Vodka: Place the rosemary sprigs in a clean, sealable glass jar. Pour the vodka over the rosemary, ensuring it is fully submerged.
  3. Store and Shake: Seal the jar tightly and store in a cool, dark place for 2–5 days, shaking gently once daily.
  4. Taste and Strain: After 2–5 days, taste the vodka. When the flavor reaches your desired intensity, strain out the rosemary using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Pour the infused vodka back into its original bottle or another clean container.
  5. Store: Keep the infused vodka in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Use within 1–2 months.

Pro Tip:

To enhance the rosemary garnish, torch the sprig briefly with a lighter or match before adding it to the glass. This will release even more of its fragrant oils for a smoky, festive aroma.
