As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we're spotlighting the products that have helped tell the Gelson’s story, favorites chosen not because they were trendy, but because they consistently delivered on the quality, flavor, and care our customers expect.

Every Gelson’s regular has a favorite.

Maybe it's the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad you've brought to countless lunches. The Crunchy Kale or California Greek Salad has become your go-to side. Or perhaps it's our Hand-Made Super Lump Crab Cakes, Poached Salmon, or Spicy Grilled Salmon that make an easy weeknight dinner feel a little more special.

These kitchen classics weren't created to follow a trend. They were developed to bring restaurant-quality flavor and fresh ingredients together in a way that's uniquely Gelson's, and they've been winning customers over ever since

Great meals start with great ingredients, and that philosophy has shaped our fresh departments for decades.

From USDA Prime Certified Angus Beef Tri-Tips and Cowboy Ribeyes to Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poke, Atlantic Salmon, and Wild-Caught Mexican Shrimp, these signature items reflect the premium standards that have defined Gelson's from the very beginning.

The same can be said for our Produce Department. Sweet Sugar Kiss Melons, juicy Pixies, Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice, and our beloved Sugar Bomb Tomatoes have become customer favorites for delivering the kind of freshness that's worth coming back for.

A milestone this special called for something new. To celebrate 75 years, we've partnered with growers, makers, winemakers, and food experts to create a collection of limited-edition anniversary products that honor our past while toasting the future. Raise a glass with our exclusive Gelson's 75th Anniversary Reserve Unoaked Chardonnay from Carneros, Napa Valley, and Gelson's 75th Anniversary Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, crafted to commemorate this milestone with every pour. Available by the glass 

The celebration continues throughout our stores with anniversary florals, collectible reusable bags, commemorative packaging, and special touches designed to mark this historic moment. Featured orchids, dahlias, and anthuriums bring a beautiful finishing touch to the occasion, complemented perfectly by our specially curated cheese plate.

Some celebrations call for a bit of fun, which is why we are excited to introduce rotating Thrifty Ice Cream flavors at our Dip Shops in Toluca Lake and Santa Barbara! From Red, White & Blue Sherbet to Circus Animal Cookie, these limited-time flavors celebrate a cherished California classic and evoke feelings of nostalgia, just like our anniversary.

July's Flavor of the Month: Thrifty's Red, White & Blue Sherbet is a patriotic seasonal treat featuring a refreshing blend of cherry, lemon, and blue raspberry.

August's Flavor of the Month: Thrifty's Cali Delight Sherbet, also known as Half and Half, offers a refreshing combination of orange sherbet and vanilla in one classic scoop.

September's Flavor of the Month: Circus Animal Cookie is filled with real Circus Animal Cookie pieces, adding a fun, nostalgic twist to every scoop, with a smooth, creamy base loaded with crunchy cookie bits and bursts of sweet frosting flavor.

To celebrate our anniversary, enjoy our limited-edition 75th Anniversary Mexican Lager by Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. for just 75¢ a pint* at participating Gelson’s Wine Bars. Join us every Thursday from 5 PM to close for this special offer (limit two pints per customer) and toast to 75 years of great food, great drinks, and great memories.
