Gelson's Gourmet Cheese Box Shipping Information
At Gelson's, we’re committed to getting your order to you as quickly and reliably as possible. Here’s what you need to know:
- Order Processing: We process orders Monday through Friday. Orders placed by 8 AM PST will ship the same day. Orders placed after 8 AM PST will ship on the following business day. Orders placed after 8 AM PST on Friday will ship the following Monday.
- Delivery Days: We deliver Tuesday through Saturday in accordance with FedEx shipping lanes for your area.
- Peak Periods: During December and other peak times, please allow an extra day for processing and delivery. We’ll notify you of any unusual delays.
- Order Timing: Please note that the delivery clock starts once your package is picked up, not when the order is placed.
- Planning Ahead: To avoid delays, we recommend ordering ahead of time so that your delivery to arrives before your event or holiday. Your cheese will stay fresh in the refrigerator for at least a week.
- Availability: We reserve the right to adjust shipping dates based on item availability.
Shipping & Quality Assurance
We use temperature-controlled packaging including gel packs to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. Every shipment is packed in a thermal-lined box with reusable, food-safe gel packs to maintain freshness. Our goal is for your cheese to arrive from cool to cold, preserving the quality you expect. If the ice packs have melted upon arrival, don’t worry—your cheese and charcuterie are still safe and should simply be refrigerated upon arrival.
Product Substitutions
Occasionally, an item in your order may be out of stock. When this happens, our experienced mongers carefully select a substitute based on the best available options. Rest assured, we always strive to include alternatives of equal or greater quality to ensure your experience meets our high standards.
Important Delivery Notes
While we take every precaution to ensure your order arrives in excellent condition, we cannot be responsible for issues caused by:
- Delivery delays due to weather or other unforeseen events
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses (please include apartment, suite, or floor numbers)
- Packages delivered to the correct address but stolen or not received
- Gift recipients being unavailable to receive perishables—please notify them of the pending delivery
- Contents not refrigerated within 24 hours of delivery (all boxes are clearly marked “Perishable”)
- Items discarded without consultation or already consumed
